“”
“The Wagner-Liszt “Isolde’s Liebestod” was the last work the great Vladimir Horowitz ever played and recorded, a mere four days before his death. At Carnegie, Irish pianist Aidan Chan gave it an appropriately operatic, elegiac performance of Wagnerian sweep and ebb and flow. He shrewdly scaled his dynamics from a hushed, foreboding start, to a grand climax of rich resonance.
[on Aidan’s Carnegie Hall debut)”
Michael Sherwin
As a musician, Aidan has been described as “talented indeed”, “brave” and “fearless and uncompromising”.
He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in notable venues in the US (Carnegie Hall), UK (Wigmore Hall), Hong Kong (Hong Kong City Hall), Switzerland (Volkshaus Biel), Austria China and across Ireland (the RDS Concert Hall, Freemasons Grand Lodge, the Hugh Lane Gallery and the National Concert Hall). In addition, he has given recitals by invitation to a number of music festivals and special occasions. As a concerto soloist he has performed with the DIT Sinfonia, as well as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Budweis in Switzerland.
